AN ACT
D.C.ACT 18-70 IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA MAY 6, 2009 To amend section 47-1805.04 of the District of Columbia Official Code to permit the release of District of Columbia tax return information to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia; and to amend An Act To establish a code of law for the District of Columbia to provide that marriages legally entered into in another jurisdiction by 2 persons of the same sex shall be recognized in the District of Columbia. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this act may be cited as the “Jury and Marriage Amendment Act of 2009”. Sec. 2. Section 47-1805.04 of the District of Columbia Official Code is amended by adding a new subsection (k) to read as follows:
Sec. 3. Chapter Forty-Three of An Act To establish a code of law for the District of Columbia, approved March 3, 1901 (31 Stat. 1391; D.C. Official Code § 46-401 passim), is amended as follows:
Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement. The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal impact statement required by section 602(c)(3) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code §1-206.02(c)(3)). Sec. 5. Effective date. This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of Congressional review as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 13; D.C.
