FIRST CLASS, FIRST RATE
SANDRA S.S. SEEGARS
WARD 8 CITY COUNCIL
(AS AN ACTIVIST COUNCIL
MEMBER I WILL FIGHT FOR YOU.)
MY PLEDGE TO YOU. In my four years in office, if I do not make an overall improvement
in Ward 8 I will not seek re-election. My first year in office I will contribute
$500.00 a month to my resident services fund.
Safer Streets. . . Money in budget for more officers. Improve
deployment of officers. Overhaul 911. Dismiss inept officers, to professionalize the
department. Stricter disciplinary measures. Thorough background checks. Anger management
for controllable officers. Overhaul US Attorney Office.
Resident Friendly Councilmember. . . Set up telephone line to
get your vote on legislation. Form committee to attend Council hearings, and formulate a
list of needs for the annual budget. Quarterly meetings with residents. Demand better
response and service from Department of Public Works.
Seniors. . . Make conditions more pleasurable. Make
information on senior programs and activities available to all seniors. More in home
services for seniors who live alone. More daycare facilities.
Needy Persons. . . Write legislation to increase the $40,000
for constituent services funds. Advocate pride and self-sufficiency.
Health Care. . . Continue effort to bring free health
care to GSECH.
Education. . . Timely pay raises for teachers. More emphasis
on tutors and mentors. Return vocational trade to public schools. Separate disruptive
students. Enforce truancy laws. Replace ineffective teachers and principals. Most of
property tax spend on education, only.
Taxi. . . Unite the ethnic groups to bring a stronger
organized vanguard. Safer conditions for drivers, so they will provide service to Ward 8.
