A PROPOSED RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

To confirm the Mayoral appointment of Ms. Joan E. Schaffner to the Board of Appeals and Review.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the "Board of Appeals and Review Joan E. Schaffner Confirmation Resolution of 2001".

Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

Ms. Joan E. Schaffner

Washington, D.C. 20009
(Ward 1)

as a public member of the Board of Appeals and Review, in accordance with Mayor's Order 9627, issued March 5, 1996 (43 DCR 1367) and section 2(f)(3) of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2-142; D.C. Code § 1-633.7(f)(3)), replacing Horace Kreitzman, whose term will end May 8, 2001, for a term to end May 8, 2004.

Sec. 3. The Secretary to the Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, each to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.

Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
