Action Alert!
The students of D.C. Public Schools need smaller classes and our
principals and teachers deserve competitive salaries.
The Mayor's proposed FY2002 School Budget of $659 million is too low
to reduce current class sizes and to pay competitive salaries for principles and teachers.
Tell the D.C. City Council and the Mayor that our children need
additional funding of $41 million: $20 million to meet teacher and principal salary needs
While maintaining current class sizes and at least an additional $21 million to meet the
other priorities identified by the Board of Education.
- Improvements in Special Education Programs
- Expanded after school and pre-kindergarten programs
- Improvements in school athletics and extra curricular programs
- Increased custodial services
- Expanded staff development programs

them you want them to support the Board of Education's FY2002 Budget Request.
