A BILL
To amend the District of Columbia Home Rule Act to permit the Council of
the District of Columbia to impose a tax on the income of professional
baseball players which is earned within the District of Columbia.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. PERMITTING COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA TO IMPOSE INCOME
TAX ON VISITING PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS.
Section 602(a)(5) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act (sec.
1-206.02(a)(5), D.C. Official Code) is amended by striking 'not a resident
of the District' and inserting the following: 'not a resident of the
District, except that the Council may impose such a tax on such an
individual to the extent that the income is derived from services rendered
within the District as a member of a professional baseball team'. |
