Dear Councilmember Schwartz:

This letter is in response to your concerns, raised at my July 11, 2007 Confirmation hearing as a Member of the District of Columbia Board of Elections and Ethics, regarding my lobbying of Members of the Council of the District of Columbia on issues related to my place of employment, the Center for Responsible Lending ("CRL").

Since the hearing, I have consulted with the senior leadership here at CRL. It has been determined that I may adjust my policy counsel work responsibilities in the District of Columbia so that it does not include contact with District of Columbia Councilmembers and Council staff or the Mayor and Mayoral staff to lobby them on legislation.

If confirmed by the Council of the District of Columbia, I commit to work with you and members of the D.C. Council to continue to improve the activities and operations of the Board of Elections and Ethics.
