CANDIDATE REES’ VIEW ON THE ANC COMMISSIONS

Jonathan R. Rees, candidate for Ward 3 DC City Council after hearing the views of people throughout Ward 3, has heard voters say that they fail to see the worth of our ANC commissions, that what our ANC commissions do would probably be better done by their council member and that the “commissions” should be abolished.

Businesses I have spoken to in Ward 3 are even more hostile toward our ANC Commission and come with attacks that they are anti-business, petty and not serving the best interest of all.

In my efforts to get to know the commissioners on the ANC Commissions in Ward 3, I have encountered a high degree of arrogance, coldness and unresponsiveness and lied to many times by commissioners, and if the way I have been treated by the commissioners is how the commissioners are treating voters, then I would agree they are worthless and need to be abolished.
