A History of Fighting for All of Us

Understanding Our Neighborhoods and Our City

Harold Brazil began his tenure on the District's Council in 1991 as Ward 6 Councilman. He worked hard in the neighborhoods, block by block, to understand residents' concerns — and take action.

As an At-large Councilmember, Harold used this experience to build a citywide perspective and create the coalitions it takes to create jobs, improve the lives of residents and get things done for every District resident — in every ward and on both sides of the river.

Championing Home Ownership

Harold Brazil fights to make owning a home not just a dream, but a reality. Brazil is a leader on the Council to help District residents become first-time home-owners and provide millions of dollars to build affordable housing.

Safer Neighborhoods Across the District

Harold Brazil works closely with Chief Ramsey to support police initiatives that put more officers on the streets and provide the additional funding to help the police to protect all of our residents — all of the time.

Job Training—So Every Resident Can Succeed

Harold Brazil understands that job skills lead to good jobs. That's why he has fought for more job training programs and increased apprenticeship opportunities.

Leadership That Matters

Harold Brazil fought to pull the city from the brink of bankruptcy when the District faced financial crisis. Today the government has the resources to provide services every resident needs.
