A RESOLUTION IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA To approve the District of Columbia Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation's issuance of Tobacco Settlement Asset-Backed Bonds to finance Capital Projects and other undertakings of the District, including the National Capital Medical Center. RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution may be cited as the "District of Columbia Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation Asset-Backed Bond Issuance Approval Resolution of 2006". Sec. 2. Pursuant to the District of Columbia Tobacco Settlement Financing Emergency Act of 2000, effective October 19, 2000 (D.C. Law 13-172; D.C. Official Code §7-1831.01, et seq.) (the "Act"), including any amendments thereto, the Council approves the District of Columbia Tobacco Settlement Financing Corporation (the "Corporation") proposal for issuance of its not to exceed $300 million Asset-Backed Bonds (the "Bonds") to finance, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, capital projects and other undertakings of the District, including the proposed National Capital Medical Center. Sec. 3. The Council shall transmit a copy of this resolution, upon its adoption, to the Chairman of the Corporation and to the Office of the Mayor. Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto) and publication in the District of Columbia Register. |
